In the course of a diverse 30-year career in all aspects
of Information Technology, Software Engineering and Process Improvement, Peter Morelli has proven to be a skilled Executive,
with an established reputation of providing strategic and tactical leadership
that supports and drives business performance. He has a proven track record of improving operational efficiencies and
reducing costs while meeting budget, schedule and quality targets with major Fortune 500 High Technology firms as well as
most recently with a mid-market $1 billion manufacturer. Peter is an accomplished
team builder and motivator with superb verbal, written and presentation skills.
A computer scientist by training, Peter started his professional
career as a Software Engineer developing and testing embedded microprocessor software for controlling various computer based
products such as: dot matrix printers, copy machines, offset printing presses and mass transit fare collection and accounting
systems. This experience base led to his accepting a position with Northrop Grumman
Corporation where during his 16 years he held numerous positions on multiple classified defense related projects for such
customers as the United States, Saudi Arabia, Israeli and Japanese Air Forces, the U.S. Navy as well as the Corporate giants
of Boeing, Lockheed-Martin and McDonald Douglas. Leading teams of Software Engineers developing real time mission critical
software, he gained a wealth of experience in project and program management, planning, budgeting, scheduling and process
improvement. Under his direction the Electronic Systems Division of Northrop
Grumman attained the coveted Software Engineering Institute’s Level Four rating under its Capability Maturity Model
as well as easily attaining ISO 9002 TICK-IT registration.
Recruited out of Northrop Grumman to lead a product development
lab for a Hewlett Packard acquisition, he relocated to Hawaii and subsequently to the Sacramento California area. During his tenure with Hewlett Packard he held various assignments where he honed his management skills
providing leadership managing and directing globally dispersed and culturally diverse staffs in the successful execution of
major projects.
Most recently Peter served as Director of Information
Technology with Sensient Technologies of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he managed a global staff covering both Operations as
well as in enterprise application development and support. Under his guidance
Sensient successfully completed a consolidation of multiple data centers, a WAN conversion from Frame Relay to IP-VPN, started
a global VoIP installation, and made significant progress in global enterprise applications consolidation. He introduced Service Oriented Architecture using Web Services to perform Enterprise Application Integration
and thus extended the useful life of existing legacy systems.
Peter is a 1993 graduate of the prestigious Executive
Management Program of Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School from which he holds a MBA. His undergraduate degree is a BS in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago
Illinois. His also has received professional certification in Project Management,
Software Estimation Modeling techniques, Project Cost Account Management, Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity
Model (SEI CMM) assessor and ISO-9001 Tick-IT Lead Auditor.
